Chevrolet built the conventional Chevy II after the rear-engine Corvair was outsold by the Ford Falcon in 1960. It was the first car on GM's X platform, with a bolt-on front section joined to a unitized body. Ours is a 1963 Chevy II built as an A/FX-style gasser, with a custom altered wheelbase for 1960s-style drag racing. It runs a supercharged 496 big-block rated at 1,100 horsepower, through a Tremec TKX five-speed. A full roll cage, ladder bars, wheelie bars and a parachute complete the build.
