The Beetle split rear window gave way to a one-piece window in March 1953, and a larger rectangular rear window replaced the oval design in 1958. The millionth Beetle was built on 6 August 1955. That same year, North American cars swapped the semaphore turn signals for flashing indicator lamps. This one is a 1957 Volkswagen Beetle in cream over a dark green interior.
