Wagon lovers have been pining for Audi to bring its RS Avant twins to North America for years, and the brand has finally caved. Audi will offer the RS 6 Avant in the United States for the first time beginning in 2020, and Americans can get their first glimpse of the performance estate this Sunday in Malibu.

Audi USA announced that the facelifted 2020 RS 6 Avant will make its US public debut at Malibu Cars & Coffee, which takes place every second Sunday at Malibu Bluffs Park from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Audi representatives will be wandering around the show as well, poised to answer questions about the US-bound über wagen from fans and potential customers alike.

The company’s decision to debut their new flagship wagon at a cars & coffee event is certainly atypical, but it’s also appropriate for the car’s market segment. Unlike most station wagons, the RS 6 was created specifically with the enthusiast in mind.

“Audi has a strong heritage in exciting wagon-fans around the world that have, over many years, been drawn to their design, performance and no-compromise character,” explained Filip Brabec, vice president of Product Management, Audi of America. “The passionate response of U.S. customers eagerly awaiting this car was the number one reason we chose to debut the RS 6 Avant to our fans and enthusiasts first.”

The RS 6 Avant will be on display at Malibu Bluffs Park on Sunday, Nov. 10th. You aren’t completely out of luck if you can’t make it, as the car will then be featured at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1.
