For 1981 GM gave its A-body coupes a mid-cycle redesign, and the Cutlass Supreme got flush rear side glass, a shovel-nose front and a raised decklid, cutting air resistance by 15 percent. In 1982 these cars were redesignated as the G-body. For 1986 the diesel V8 option was withdrawn.
