Mercedes-Benz launched the W114 and W115 in 1968 as its New Generation models, with squared-off three-box styling. The four-cylinder W115 was sold as the 200, 220, 230.4 and 240. A /8 on the ID plate marked the 1968 launch, giving the cars their slash eight nickname, Strich Acht in German. They were the first postwar Mercedes production cars with semi-trailing rear arms and a ball-joint front end. Ours is a 1969 220 sedan that runs, with an automatic gearbox.
