The Sports 800 grew out of the Publica Sports prototype, which used the powertrain of the Publica 700 economy car. Its 790 cc 2U-B flat twin drives the rear wheels through a four-speed manual. Production peaked at 1,235 cars in 1965, and 538 were built in 1967. The one we have is a 1967 Toyota Sports 800 targa in silver over a black interior, with a manual gearbox.
