The Beetle's export model, with better interiors and chrome bumpers, arrived on 1 July 1949. The split rear window gave way to a one-piece window on 10 March 1953. The millionth example was built on 6 August 1955. The one we have is a 1959 Volkswagen Beetle sedan with a manual gearbox.
