The W180 line of 1954 to 1959 included a six-cylinder saloon, coupe and convertible. The 220 S replaced the 220 a in early 1956 and was built through October 1959. An optional Hydrak automatic clutch was offered alongside the four-speed column manual. Ours is a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 S sedan in black over red.
