Ponton is German for pontoon, the name given to the slab-sided styling that merged hood, body, fenders and running boards into one shape. The Pontons were also Mercedes' first unitary-body production cars, and the 190 added a new short-stroke 1.9-liter engine. This 1960 190 wagon has coachbuilt Binz bodywork, in blue over brown on whitewall tires.
