The Thunderbird went on sale in October 1954 as a 1955 model, and buyers placed 3,500 orders in the first ten days. Sales beat Ford's plans. It used existing Ford chassis and mechanical parts, and its exhaust exits through twin bumper guards. Ours is a 1955 Thunderbird in Turquoise over a turquoise and white interior.
