Harley-Davidson has built the Sportster continuously since 1957, and its models carry an XL product code. Unlike the side-valve Model K that came before it, the Sportster uses an overhead-valve engine. The XL1200C Custom was introduced in 1996. Ours is a 2006 Sportster XL1200C Custom in Glacier White Pearl.
