For 2004 and 2005 the RN12 R1 got an underseat dual exhaust, radial brakes and, for the first time, a ram-air intake. Its engine was no longer a stressed member of the chassis. A factory steering damper was added in 2004. This particular example is a 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1 with a six-speed gearbox.
