The NSX was the first production car with an all-aluminum semi-monocoque, saving nearly 200 kilograms over steel in the body alone. Its story began with a Honda City test mule cut in half, with the engine behind the driver's seat. In 1984 Honda commissioned Pininfarina to explore a design. This car is a 1991 NSX in Berlina Black, a first-year car, with a manual gearbox.
