The name De Ville comes from the French for of the town, and a coupe de ville takes its name from couper, to cut. For 1977 the De Ville was downsized, and a 180-horsepower 425 V8 replaced the 500. For 1978 it got a redesigned grille and slim vertical tail lamps set into chrome bumper end caps. This one is a 1978 Coupe de Ville in silver over red leather, with an automatic gearbox.
