Pontiac had wanted a two-seat sports car, but GM feared it would hurt Corvette sales, so the Firebird shared the F-body with the Camaro. Its bumpers were integrated into the front end for a sleeker look than the Camaro. For 1969 a Ram Air IV option joined the 400 V8 lineup. Ours is a 1969 Firebird 400 coupe with a frame-off restoration and an automatic gearbox. It has air-ride shocks in the back, and the odometer reads just over 70,000 miles.
