The Sunbeam Tiger is the V8 version of the Rootes Sunbeam Alpine roadster, with assembly contracted to Jensen. The Mark I uses a 260 cu in Ford V8 rated at 164 bhp, a Panhard rod and stiffer front springs. A chrome strip along the sides sets it apart from the Alpine, and early cars wore Powered by Ford 260 badges on the front wings.
