The Gran Sport made its debut on the 1965 Riviera, powered by the 425 Super Wildcat V8 with two Carter four-barrels, rated at 360 horsepower. Its dual exhausts grew to 2.25 inches with fewer turns, and a 3.42 Positraction axle was standard. For 1965 the headlamps, now vertical, hid behind clamshell doors in the fender edges.
