For 1957 Chevrolet fitted 14-inch wheels in place of 15-inch ones for a lower stance, with a wide grille. The tailfins were drawn to repeat that wide look at the rear. Bel Airs got gold trim and a ribbed aluminum insert in the fins. 1957 was also the first year Chevrolet offered fuel injection.
