The Type 34 Karmann Ghia arrived in September 1961 on the new VW 1500 platform, with a body by Sergio Sartorelli at Ghia. It offered a power-operated steel sunroof option. It was not officially sold in the US, and was built from 1962 to 1969. In August 1963 VW added the twin-carburetor 1500 S engine. This particular example is a 1964 Karmann Ghia 1500 S coupe in red over a cream interior.
