De Ville began as a trim level of the Cadillac Series 62. For 1957 Cadillac adopted a tubular X-frame without side rails, for a lower body and more torsional strength. For 1958 a new grille added rows of round cleats where the bars meet. Ours is a 1958 Cadillac De Ville four-door sedan in pink, with an automatic gearbox.
