The Advance Design was Chevrolet's first major truck redesign after World War II, billed as larger, stronger and sleeker than the AK Series. It went on sale on June 28, 1947, and ran until March 25, 1955. GMC sold its own version as the New Design. Here we have a 1949 Chevrolet one-and-a-half-ton truck, with a manual gearbox.
