The W180 is one of the Mercedes-Benz models nicknamed Ponton, for its pontoon-shaped unibody styling. The 220 S replaced the 220 a in 1956 with a more powerful 2.2-liter six, later given a second carburetor. It kept a four-speed column-shift manual. Here we have a 1957 220S sedan with the manual gearbox.
