For 1956 the Thunderbird gained trunk space by mounting the spare wheel outside. The exhaust tips moved to the ends of the bumper, and vents behind the front wheels improved cabin airflow. Porthole windows were a no-cost option for the removable hardtop. Ours is a 1956 Thunderbird with the factory continental package and a removable hardtop.
