The Schwimmwagen, or swim car, is a light four-wheel-drive amphibious car used during World War II. It entered full production as the Type 166 in 1941 and was built through 1944. Its air-cooled 1,131 cc flat-four was developed for the Schwimmwagen. Four-wheel drive works only in first gear or reverse. Here we have a 1944 Volkswagen Schwimmwagen in camouflage over a yellow interior.
