Vespa, Italian for wasp, is Piaggio's scooter brand, which began with a single model in 1946. Vespas are known for a painted pressed steel body that forms a unified structure with the engine cowling. Ours is a Vespa scooter, painted to match a flamed 1977 GMC Motorhome.
