The XM is a plug-in hybrid SUV and the second car developed entirely by BMW M, after the 1978 M1. Production began in December 2022 at BMW's plant in South Carolina, with deliveries starting in 2023. All-wheel drive comes through BMW's M xDrive system. Ours is a 2023 XM in white over a white interior, with an automatic gearbox.
