The Xterra takes its name from the XTERRA off-road triathlon series. The second generation arrived for 2005 on Nissan's F-Alpha platform, shared with the Titan and Armada. Its 4.0-liter VQ40DE V6 makes 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft. The Off-Road trim adds an electronic locking rear differential and a Dana 44 rear axle.
