For 1988 the Esprit was restyled with softer, more rounded lines, known by its project code X180. Its body panels were made with Lotus's patented vacuum-assisted resin injection, and Kevlar in the roof and sides raised torsional rigidity by 22 percent. The rectangular taillights came from the AE86 Toyota Corolla Levin. This one is a 1988 Lotus Esprit with a manual gearbox.
