The R107 SL of 1971 was the first SL fitted with V8 engines. Its major update came in 1985 for the 1986 model year, bringing enlarged 4.2- and 5.5-liter V8s. That year US cars also gained a third brake lamp on the trunk. Ours is a 1986 560SL convertible in black.
