The Pantera was designed by Tom Tjaarda at Carrozzeria Ghia, on a steel monocoque chassis, the first De Tomaso built that way. It used a Ford 351 Cleveland V8 and a ZF five-speed transaxle shared with the Maserati Bora. More than three quarters of production was sold through Lincoln-Mercury dealers from 1972 to 1975. During 1973 the dash changed to a single unit with the dials angled toward the driver. The one we have is a 1973 De Tomaso Pantera in white over a black interior.
