Porsche created the 912 as a four-cylinder entry model based on the 911, worried that the 911's price rise over the 356 would cost sales. Inside the company it was first known as the 902, a name never used publicly. It was built from 1965 to 1969 with a 1.6-liter Type 616 flat four. Ours is a 1966 912 coupe with patina and a beige interior, with a manual gearbox.
