The Ponton series was introduced in 1953 and built until 1963. Its nickname, German for pontoon, refers to the styling that merged hood, body, fenders and running boards into one slab-sided shape. Mercedes itself never used the name. The one we have is a 1960 Mercedes-Benz Ponton sedan.
