For 1958 the Thunderbird was redesigned as a four-seater, and its success created a new market segment, the personal luxury car. It also moved to a more rigid unibody construction. For 1959 it gained a new grille, and a 350-horsepower 430 cubic-inch V8 became optional. This particular example is a 1959 Thunderbird in turquoise with a black hardtop, over a two-tone turquoise and white interior.
